LETTERS TO NERA
October 2, 2019,
Dear NERA,
I am writing to thank the USAA/NERA College humbled when I learned that I was selected as a recipi-
Scholarship Program for awarding me a $2,500 schol- ent of one of your scholarships. I realize you must have
arship for the 2019/2020 school year. I was ecstatic and had many quali ed applicants and I am very honored you
selected me.
During my sophomore year I have worked hard at
Georgia Tech. I have maintained a 3.5 Grade Point aver-
age while making it on the Dean’s list for the 4th consec-
utive semester. Your scholarship will allow me to avoid
excessive student loan debt. It will also allow me the time
to continue my involvement with campus professional
organizations like the American Society of Mechanical
Engineers (ASME). I successfully ran for the position of
ASME Georgia Tech Chapter Vice President of Finance
and I have been involved with organizing career fairs, con-
necting with company recruiters and scheduling picnics
and meetings. It is a great way to learn more about the
Mechanical Engineering profession as well as helping my
fellow students to nd internships and jobs.
Knowing that funding is in place for my junior year sig-
ni cantly reduces stress and allows me to concentrate on
my studies for next year. With the demanding course load
at Georgia Tech, holding down a job would have been
extremely di cult. Again, thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Evan B. Chase
