LETTERS TO NERA
“Twice a Citizen” Awardees
Three San Diego based Sailors and one USAF Senior
Airman each went home with a check for $2,500 after
being selected as a “Twice a Citizen” awardee by the
San Diego chapter of the National Defense Industrial
Association (NDIA-SD). The check, along with an
NDIA Certificate and Plaque, was presented at a lun-
cheon attended by the awardees, their families and com-
mand representatives, in front of 1,700 small business
owners and NDIA members at a ceremony held at the
San Diego Convention Center on Thursday, July 27th.
The Twice a Citizen award recognizes servicemembers
who: (1) are serving in either the Military Reserves or
National Guard, (2) live, work, or drill in the greater
San Diego area, and (3) have demonstrated outstanding
leadership, professional performance, and dedication –
both within their local communities and in service to
the nation. A formal selection board is convened to
identify the final group of awardees. The 2024 nomi-
nation process will begin in May 2024, with similar RDML Bob Kamensky, USNR (Ret.), Twice a Citizen luncheon
awards presented in August of that year. Information on speaker shown holding check presented to each of the 2023
