Ashley Williams
Ashley will be attending the Texas Tech Honors College this fall to start her education
that will lead her to a career as a trauma surgeon for the US military. Ever since she was
a child, Ashley has been fascinated by “the science of life.” She plans on a full active-duty
career. Ashley loves reading biographies of doctors. She is also very interested in biology
in general, filling her home with plants and listening to podcasts about the mysteries of
the human brain.

Jessica Wollesen

Jessica is studying Biomedical Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines. She discusses
the fact that biomedical engineers have made major steps in the development of processes to
print structures using organic tissue, utilizing stem cells from the patients in order to minimize
the possibility of implant rejection. She anticipates seeking a master’s degree and eventually a
doctoral degree.
