FACES OF NERA

Boatswain SKCS (Ret) Norma von Dohren

On November 20, 2021 NERA’s very own SKCS Norma
von Dohren, USN (Ret.), President, Gold Country
Chapter, participated in the Chief’s Pinning Ceremony
at the Navy Operational Support Center Sacramento
(NOSC). The Class of 128 CPO Pinning had Master of
                Ceremonies– MMC Lucas Carthew.

Boatswain SKCS (Ret) Norma von Dohren piped for the
new Chiefs during the ceremony. She has been piping
since she was a brand-new Chief in 1994. She honors
those with her piping during Chiefs Pinning events,
Change of Commands, Retirement Ceremonies, or
Retirement Send-Offs of Sailors who chose not to have
a ceremony. Norma believes every Sailor who honorably
served our country deserves to be piped ashore when he/
                she retires.
