DoD Announced that 16 Million Veterans
Are Now Eligible to Use Their Travel Site

American Forces Travel℠ provides access to a wide selec-
tion of discounted rates on hotels, air fare, rental cars,
vacation packages, and cruises. It is supported by the com-
pany Priceline. Previously only active-duty, Reserve and
Guard members, retired, and their family members were
eligible to book leisure travel through this site. Launched
in 2019, this site has expanded so ALL honorably dis-
charged veterans are eligible to use it, expanding their
numbers to almost 22 million travelers.
First-time visitors to the website will be asked to verify
their eligibility with DoD. The site is connected to the
Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System, or American Forces Travel offers a price match policy on pri-

The site is a joint initiative among the service branches, (with some exceptions). As always, comparison shopping

Here’s who is eligible:
n Active duty who serve in the Army, Marine Corps, n Medal of Honor recipients
Navy, Air Force, Space Force and Coast Guard
n Veterans with a discharge status of honorable or
n Members of the reserve components and National general under honorable conditions

n Veterans with VA service-connected disabilities;
n Coast Guard Auxiliary active duty Purple Heart recipients; veterans who are former
prisoners of war; and primary family caregivers of
